There are a few sites that I come back to for expert advice time and again and I’ve put those sites together into my list of 5 Must-Follow Websites for Bloggers. When I started blogging a few years ago, immersed myself in the medium. I read every last article I could find about blogging and followed every last advice-giver on Facebook. There is a lot of information out there for people who are starting a blog. It took me awhile to figure out which sites were reliable and which sites I could skip. Below, you’ll find my list of “keepers” when it comes to the people I turn to for website and blogging advice.
Every time I build a new website, I check in with Amy’s how to start a blog post to make sure I’m not forgetting crucial steps. She’s never steered me wrong. I also subscribe to her Useletter. It shows up in my inbox every Saturday and usually pull at least one gold nugget from her tips.
Melyssa has classes and articles that are current and relevant to bloggers in any niche. Plus, she hosts one of the most active Facebook groups of which I’ve ever been a part. Her Blog + Biz BFFs group currently has more than 34,000 members, and many who post regularly. Whether you’re looking for advice or to network, this is a great place to start.
I first discovered Melissa Culbertson from Blog Clarity when I was redesigning my first site for the very first time and bought her book, Blog Design for Dummies. While the book is rather out of date now, Melissa is not. She offers advice and classes on her site which are invaluable for both beginning and experienced bloggers.
Darren Rowse is perhaps one of the best known bloggers in the industry. His site, ProBlogger, boasts a community of over 300,000 followers. It includes blogging advice, podcasts, ebooks and even a job board for freelance writers and bloggers.
